Ponce Inlet is wide, deep and very swift flowing. On the other side is New Smyrna Beach. Lots of sailboats and large fishing charter boats use the inlet. |

![]() Ponce Lighthouse and American Beautyberry in fruit. There is a lot of nature to admire in this park. I really enjoyed my visit to the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse. Climbing the 203 steps up the winding stairwell to the top of the 175 foot tall brick structure built in 1887 was awesome. The view is incredible. Be sure to see the photos of my visit to the Ponce Lighthouse. |

Many of the dunes here at Ponce De Leon Inlet appear to be nearly 15 feet high and are covered with a very healthy growth of sea oats and other dune vegetation. The tall buildings are actually on the other side of the inlet at New Smyrna Beach. |
