best during very calm conditions. This snorkeler is determined
to enjoy a morning of snorkeling among the flat limestone rocks
even though conditions are just a bit rough.
This is a very safe area to snorkel because the water is so shallow, the rocks are smooth and flat, and it is not an area known for dangerous currents. A good mask and snorkel are essential, but swim fins are optional. The water is so shallow and the rocks are so close to the beach that fins are not absolutely necessary. If you want to swim further out or cover more territory, swim fins would be very helpful. If you are staying in one of the beachfront vacation rentals on Crescent Beach, you are within walking distance of Point-of-Rocks. |
